Figuring Out the Default Turn Based Battle System

I was killing some time in extreme heat by playing a very old game. And it featured a simple, turn-based battle system. Playing that, made me want to start figuring out the similar 'default' battle system, already present in RPG Maker (which I've avoided for 6 years... 😅)
And so, I'm figuring it out and customizing it here and there.
